Hi ! I’m Patty Dukes. I’m a Hip-Hop artist living in NYC. I’m Puerto Rican & Dominican. I’m launching this blog to share things I love and that Inspire me. From music, art, culture, wellness, fashion and anything else that peaks my curiosity.
Patty Dukes is a Hip-Hop Artist from The South Bronx. Patty Dukes is a founding member of Circa ’95 an independent Hip-Hop music & media group. Recently Circa ’95 released their debut album “FREE LUNCH“. Rhyming seamlessly through English and Spanish, inspired by artists like Lauryn Hill, Bahamadia, Queen Latifah & Mc Lyte. Patty Dukes has performed all over the U.S. and has graced the stage with artists like Krs-One, Pitbull, NinaSky and Mala Rodriguez to name a few. HBO Latino is currently featuring her in a show called “RoadTrip: NYC” and “Habla Ya”.
The 2007 winner of Cuervotón is a multi-talented artist. Blessed with flow & lyrical skill, PattyDukes is much more than your average emcee. An actress with years of training who has performed throughout the stages world. A writer whose articles have graced the pages of some of the most popular magazines in today’s urban market like Kicksclusive, Fuego and Urban Latino. Patty Dukes played the role of Nancy in Danny Hoch’s play Till The Break of Dawn, produced by the Culture Project and The NYC Hip Hop Theater Festival. Hailing from the South Bronx, Patty Dukes has made a name for herself as one of the most hardworking, talented, up-and-coming Latinas in New York City. A blogger and social media enthusiast. Her Puerto Rican and Dominican background and urban musical taste reflect her upbringing. A dedicated artist and activist. Her stage presence commands attention and charm is irresistible. Her powerful words paint vivid pictures of struggle yet they are also filled with so much hope. Patty uses Hip-Hop to deliver a positive message. Frequently performing at schools, juvenile detention centers, shelters, universities, and community centers around the country. Her love of Hip-Hop manifests itself in everything she does. She began with internships to notable Hip-Hop institutions like The Source magazine and working one- on-one with artists she believed in (Actors, Musicians and Poets) to develop their own projects. Traveling to places like Costa Rica and London showed Patty firsthand the power that Hip-Hop has to create social change and inspire others. Her goal is to continue inspiring the world through Hip-Hop. Building cross cultural bridges instead of borders that divide us. Patty Dukes is determined and focused on bringing the stories of poor urban communities to the main stages of the world.
