REALITY RAPS
Hi-ARTS (producers of the Hip-Hop Theater Festival) brings you some of the realest to ever do it with this unique presentation of MCs who are embedded in community and choosing to make a positive change with their work.
No question, Rebel Diaz (NYC),Circa ’95 (NYC) and Invincible (Detroit) put in work and will be in the building, but the cornerstone of the evening is the New York Premiere of Frank Waln (Rosebud Reservation, South Dakota) as we all welcome him to NYC. Frank Waln has won numerous Native American Music Awards and is influencing a whole generation of young Native folks reclaiming their culture through Hip-Hop. Come celebrate culture and progress.

Wassup! Hope everyone is doing ok. Sending love to all those affected by the senseless violence in Boston. I wish I lived in a world where all living creatures were respected. Lets continue to fight the hate with love. You can’t fight fire with fire, you must fight fire with water.
This weekend is The Green Festival in NYC, celebrating earth day weekend that supports a sustainable economy, creating an ecological balance and social justice. I’m happy to be attending but also really excited that my group Circa ’95 has been asked to perform on the mainstage!! This is the first time we’ve been invited to perform for a festival this big. It makes it even better because of the message of the festival. The festival will feature inspiring speakers, a green marketplace, DIY workshops, cooking demos, organic beer and wine garden, eco fashion show, kid activities, organic food court, live music, green product samples and art installations.
So come check us out if your in the area!
Circa ’95 and friends will be performing on Sunday, April 21st at 2pm on the mainstage!
